Hi Steve, Jürgen,
My cargo iLean trike is still in service.  Load capacity is good between the rear wheels.  I like leaning into a corner at max angle and power thru at constant turning radius, a unique on-rail experience.
Regarding design simplicity, there are limitations to re-using front wheels without forks.  Steve must have solved this problem with custom machined wheel axles. I haven’t yet to try rear wheels with coaster brake hub (bigger bearings and axle), or a linkage design re-using front wheel forks…

Cheers,
Vi

 Hi Jurgen and all.
My experiences with iLean is very positive, but I made some early decisions which have made them work for me, they are
Use 75mm unicycle cranks: this minimises wheel scrub during cornering.
Use custom made shafts to mount wheels, that is bbshaft at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4201871/files
Use 349 size 16" wheels, these take up a bit less space, and the iLean mech provides good suspension despite the small wheel size.
Up till a few weeks ago when I made the rear suspension bike, 90% or so of my riding was on iLean and that has included a flat 1200k Audax ride. In general I explain it by saying it's just a way to make the frame simple and that overall the cycle remains simpler than if you had a split rear fork. I think every other leaning trike mechanism is more complex.
Overall I wouldn't have used them as much as I have if they didn't give good results.
Best wishes
Steve Nurse

Thanks Steve.

What are your experiences with the iLean tilting mechanism?

Regards from Jürgen.
