Hi all, I have some 35mm negatives which have a few very thin scatches on them. They can't be seen under a 5x loupe on the lightbox, but when an 8 x 10 is made, there they are. Anyway, I put Edwal No-Scratch on the negative (on the backing side, not the emulsion side), and this did indeed eliminate the scratches. However, I have been unable to spread the No-Scratch evenly enough so as not to get little liquid ridges and bubbles that ruin the prints. Has anyone on the list used this stuff, and do you have any secrets to getting it to spread evenly? I also tried nose grease. It didn't work as well at covering the scratches, and I found that my finger created streaks. Maybe I should apply it with something other that my finger. Thanks. John Meyers Yahoo!
