At a guess they have trouble shipping it by air because it is a
liquid and fairly alkaline. Maybe some other reason. B&H seems to walk
on eggs about shipping.

Rodinal is my "standard"developer.
I use it with FP4+ and HP5+ and prefer the grain and increase
in perceived sharpness to the smudged appearance of so-called
fine-grain developers. I find it easy to use, and the
concentrate seems to keep almost indefinitely.
I understand that R09 is the original formulation.
Adox sells Rodinal under the name Adonal. It's available from
Freestyle, B&H, and elsewhere.
