I do agree with you actually Bob.

The US police force do have a distinctive approach to confrontation that is
hard to stand up against. An almost robotic repetition of statement. I have
encountered it quite often in a number of very minor incidents in the US so
it is well beyond coincidence.

A far cry from the English 'Bobby' :-)

For US Pure Silverers, We have had similar testing of security attitudes
here in the UK of late with a mass demonstration in Trafalgar Square in
London. It was organised over the internet. Eventually it lead to a change
in what police and security guards could claim was the law.

And, if in maintaining "quiet beat" the law enforcement officials
arbitrarily exercise their power contrary to the law or abuse their power,
it is our obligation as citizens to at least correct the problem by seeing
that the officers involved are better educated in applicable laws or, in
extreme cases, prosecuted if their actions contravene the law.

Concerning the not allowing anything to happen. In law enforcement terms
that is known as the "quiet beat." Or "no problems here sir." Police
officers evaluations are often based on "quiet beat". It may not mean that
there isn't any wrong doing it only means that there was a certain element
of control.
