It is indeed pure silver. no additional contrast control in the emulsion. Done by hand in the pure traditional sense. People ask for help setting up darkrooms, this is no different. How much space can your light take up? I bout a three c cell size lantern that could easily have a piece of ruby lith rolled around the cylinder and attached with ruby tape. total cost maybe $20 and last for a long time and much lighter than a car battery. Me too, but I am still constructing..;-)..and besides winter time is not the most optimal season, I need a lot of UV/blue light.. I do have made quite a few images in my "studio" but I have posted these in the Collodion Forum, and one should be a member (free, see http://www.studioq.com/forum_donations.htm) But we drift away from pure-silver (my fault anyway) Best, Cor _____ From: pure-silver-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pure-silver-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of William Harting Sent: donderdag 26 november 2009 14:54 To: pure-silver@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [pure-silver] Re: Now this really an Off Topic question.. But, I'm curious, without some kind of window into the box such that you could safely see into it, why have the red light in there at all? Bob ..Bob, I am afraid I do not understand your question: I have not made a red window in my darkbox (yet), since I will be working in the trunk of my car, I figure that even with a (side) window in my box, not enough light will fall through. People with portable darkbox (see for a really nice one: http://www.blackartwoodcraft.com/News_and_Events.html ) point the window to a light area. With a car that can be harder, so I opt for artificial red light..
