It is not a rangefinder, and I could not bring myself to purchase one but it is 
an intriguing device.

group: I doubt Leica photography is dead, per se.  Out of reach for us poor 
mortals, yes.  (Really $4,000.00 for a camera body??) However, there is some 
hope for the range finder via Voightlander/Bessa, former soviet union (zorki), 
and others.  The real issue is the transition from analog to digital.  If only 
some clever group could come up with a simple, as in f-stop // shutter speed 
only, digital, with a digital storage, rather than film????  At a fair price?  
This could be similar to the transition from glass plate negatives to film.  
Only from film to pixel.  Not necessarily a telephone, but a camera that can 
swap glass? crazy, No? Be well and happy Purim.  baba be well
