problem with ptr1 disc

hi.
can anyone help? i have a ptr1 and i have been using it quite successfully for
ages.
i recorded some audio yesterday and when switching off the unit said, improper
or damaged disc. i was very annoyed as the disk already has about 10 hours of
audio recorded on it. is there any chance of recovering the audio or have i
lost it. if i reload the disc i get the same message.
