Well to do a splash screen while in your project you should just go to
project, item, add splash screen and then that will add the splash screen to
your solution. As a log in form you can create a second form and call it
from the class constructor of your vb class when it starts up.

Subject:

Visual Basic With Jaws Hi.
justin rebuilding my assignment database application.
and tried to delete the main form, and the application supposed to have a
splash screen and a login form.
and when i go to the properties of my application and there are tabs, and
set it up as say frmLogin.vb and hit the enter key, instead of going back to
the solution explorer, it still says the app designer, etc.
and when i go to solution explorer, and go to the login form, and compile,
the login form does not come up.
so do i just put the main form first, then say my login form, then the
splash screen, then the other forms, like for my database main form, my
other form, called controls, where you have like a about box, data grid, and
exit button.
or would it be better to use menus or buttons.
need your help and feedback on this one.
getting frustrated.
been a while since i had a look at this project.
the project is to have a database application and you have a start up form,
a login form, a splash screen.
the login form, and you put in say User and Password for user and Admin and
System for Admin.
when you click the okay button, if user, then you have a database with text
boxes, of a typical computer help desk application, with id, first name,
last name, computer problem, date, priority, etc, contact phone number,
contact e-mial.
you get the drift.
and then navigation buttons, like first, next, previous, last and a save
button, which allow the user to save the database.
created the database with information in microsoft access 2003, that is the
version we had at the college before getting my laptop.
and got the data in the database.
if you are a admin, you have buttons for add record, delete record, update
record, and a close button, asking if you want to close the database.
if you click on close, then another form comes up with the about box, the
data grid and the exit button.
hope i have outlined the problem as simple as possible.
not wanting you to do this for me, but how to fix the problems, and how to
get the login form loading first, unless i use code say to hide the start up
form which would be form1.
normally.
tried deleting that, but then when i added the login form, vb complained
about form1.vb not being part of windows forms.
and maybe might need your help to try to get the forms in the order
correctly.
and if you could help that would be fine.
and had to rebuild, because some of my application, missing parts and easier
to do, so save the forms with the code as text files.
and then did another text document with the database fields.
and the names.
so if you could help out that would be fine.
and been a while since trying to use the app properties.
can you help me and can you e-mail me if possible.
sorry to be a pain, but being a blind programmer your self, you might have
had to do this multi form application.
the reason i chose buttons, over menus at the time, is that i only had jaws
6.10, and the menus were not reading very well, to modify properties,
wihtout sighted help.
but now got jaws 10, it reads the menus fine.
and might send you my application, if need help with one of your sighted
friends for alignment.
and if the web page and the word document is fine.
so will be rebuilding the project over the next couple of days.
hope you can help me out.
cheers Marvin.
