Or one could simply use remote desktop to get into the virtual PC all the
way, and use it in that fashion.
Just another approach.

I've used VPC in the past. The way I managed to use it was to install a
screen reader on the hosted operating system. This seemed to work when I
tried it back in 2005.
The only problem with this approach is that the screen reader on the host
operating system won't pass on some of the keystrokes to the screen reader
on the hosted operating system. This tends to be things like the keys to
invoke screen reader commands. To get around the problem you can either
unload the screen reader on the host operating system whilst you are using
VPC, use the screen reader's command to pass a key through, or customise the
screen reader.
