Thanks a lot for this. I've lost the plot a bit on this one, and have not given
correct information.
Actually, what happened was this:
1.I downloaded the 2005 beta, and installed it.
2.It informed me that I needed the JAWS plugin, so I downloaded that, and tried
to install it.
3.It told me I was using the wrong version of Framework, and I exited the
install.
4. I had been using JAWS 5, so the plugin is coming up as installed, so I don't
get the message .
5.I have no extra scripts, so that's about it.
As you correctly surmise, it is quite usable without scripts.

I may well get back to you, I'm at home now, so cannot implement the changes
you recommend, but I've forwareded this email to my work machine.

I'm not aware of any publicly available scripts for the 2005 range. The
scripts that ship with JAWS, and that are installed during the JAWS install,
may have problems running with the Express editions, as I've heard that the
Express editions do not offer the capability to run add-ins, something that I
plan to look into later. Additionally, the scripts that ship with JAWS aren't
designed for 2005, which last time I checked with Freedom Scientific technical
support was "unsupported software".
However, the good news is that Visual Studio 2005 is quite accessible without
the need for any scripts. You do have to make a few configuration changes to
overcome some bugs in how Freedom Scientific implemented MSAA support in JAWS,
but these are fairly simple and fairly minor. To make the changes:
1. delete c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\freedom
scientific\jaws\6.20\settings\enu\msenv.*
2. delete c:\documents and settings\{your account name}\application
data\freedom scientific\jaws\6.20\settings\enu\msenv.*
3. Restart JAWS or your system
4. Open Visual Studio 2005
5. Open an existing WinForms project, or create a new one
6. Open the solution explorer using ctrl + alt + l
7. Select Form1 or another WinForm from the solution explorer, and press enter
8. Set the view to the code editor (view > code)
9. Press Insert + 7 on the numeric line above the alpha keys
10. Dismiss the dialog that informs you that you are creating a new
configuration file.
11. Press tab and select multi line edit from the listbox
12. Click OK.
The above steps should force JAWS to use it's off screen model for Visual
Studio's editor control, thereby overcoming bugs in the default MSAA client
contained in JAWS.

The scripts that are supplied by FS do not work with Visual Studio 2005.
I'm not aware of any scripts yet available for VS 2005, other than those being
worked on by Will and co on this list. So I'm afraid I can't help you there.

I've been a bit remiss here.
I'm using the VS express edition (beta) with scripts downloaded from the
internet. I'm using JAWS version 6.2.
I wasn't aware that fs provided scripts for VS.
The main problem I'm having concerns error messages, I still get them in
my code occassionally (grin). When an error message appears, I don't seem to be
able to get focus back to the line on which the error has occurred. Sometimes,
hitting spacebar works, but this isn't generally a good idea, as it can further
corrupt the line in which the error has occurred.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Firstly, which scripts are you referring to? Are you using the JAWS
screen reader? If so, which version? If not, which screen reader, if any, are
you using?
I have used Visual Studio.NET 2003 with JAWS 5.x and 6.x. Both these
versions of JAWS come with the VS.NET scripts included. So if you are using
JAWS, and you have downloaded VS.NET scripts, I'm assuming they're not the ones
provided by Freedom Scientific, and written by Brett Lewis.

Firstly, an introduction.
I've been programming since 1978, and most recently been working in a
PICK environment, but we all have to cave in to gui eventually. I've been
programming at home in VB6 for a while, but now, its getting serious. We're
starting to use dotnet at work. I found the scripts for this somewhere on the
internet, but am a little confused about some of the interface, and how the
scripts interact. If anyone can put me in touch with the author, or has had
experience of using these scripts, I'd be extremely grateful to hear from you.
