I'm glad it's working for you. I'd really like to use Vista, and I'll 
get back to it one day, but the problems are not worth the effort at the 
moment.
A couple of points:
Vista doesn't install Norton. That's a Symantec product, and was almost 
certainly put there by HP.
There are no good registry cleaners. They are unnecessary and more 
likely to screw up your system than to fix anything. Registry cleaning 
and defragging is unnecessary for the most part. Windows Vista includes 
an incredible array of support tools which should be thoroughly 
investigated before adding any third party software.
