Hugh, I have been using Vista with SP1 installed for 3-4 months on my HP Laptop. My Laptop purchased in Nov '07 came with Vista Home Premium Installed, but lots of problems. So, I purchased a new 160GB WD hard drive and then installed XP, which I used until SP1 became available for Vista. I then shifted back to Vista and installed SP1 which is working perfectly. I use Mozilla Firefox Browser & Thunderbird for my mail. Memory 4GB, HD 160GB I also use Advanced Windows Care which I run 2-3 times weekly to Check/Clean the Registry, it also Defrags and does other system checks. To rid the Vista system of Norton which is installed by Vista, I use a wonderful program "Absolute Installer." It is a "Must Have" for me, as it will completely remove all Norton garbage and clean the registry.
