Already got the welcome message, will check out what you are talking about? I guess it is at freelist.com? The welcome message only gave options for posting. I will "investigate" *G*. Keep reading after the copy of the welcome message here. >>>> >> File sent due to actions of administrator pc_tech@xxxxxxxxxxxx Hi, Welcome to the PCTechTalk group at FreeLists. Please take a moment to review this message. To start sending messages to members of this group, simply send your questions and comments to PCTechTalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx The sending of attachments is not permitted here so that those who don't want it, won't get it. (some folks have to pay hourly for their net access and downloading unwanted attachments takes too much time). We also don't want o help promote the accidental spreading of virus, worm and Trojan files through the group. Also please note that this is an open list consisting of folks with computer questions about getting the most out of their PCs. Questions about hacking, cracking, phreaking, etc. are not permitted on this list. Peace, GuitarMan PC_Tech@xxxxxxxxxxxx Owner, PCTechTalk >>>>> NO files or bookmarks....hmmm....guess you are gonna have to get that PCTechTalk site up...... Let me talk to my boss. I am cutting ties on my site for professional reasons I will leave untold. I have all the databases, as I put them all together, along with the upkeep. I run the site, and my boss has the server. All the stuff is in my name, but I am letting it go. Let me see what we can work out. Quite possibly we can substitute the PCTechTalk site with my site. (My domain name expires in February, we could target for then.) Of course, I don't expect it to be in my name : ) but I got a 'lil pull with the owner of the server. I will tell you now tho, that you have got to have a domain name. Once you have that, you could even run your own list, although I don't like the limitations on that. I meant exactly what I said. Thank you for having this list, for being the person that you are, and for caring enough about your list and your members, moderators, newbies, anybody else who benefits from your hard work. nightsneak ----- Original Message ----- From: "GuitarMan" <PC_Tech@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "PCTechTalk Owner List" <pctechtalk-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, December 09, 2001 3:12 AM Subject: Re: Freelists group has been approved. | Both of you were just added as regular users (I had a feeling you might want | to use that one, NS). Let me know if you don't receive a Welcome message | soon (which will need some revising since the features are different here). | | Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we have a Files or Bookmarks area here. | Still, it's incredibly versatile as far as options for the handling of | individual members and posts. Read through the FAQ and any other stuff you | can find as there are TONS of places to make adjustments to how we might | wish to run the list on this host. | | As an Administrator, I'm able to open up a preferences page for either of | you individually and give you different sets of privileges. After you've | checked out the features available to members, give a yell and I'll increase | these settings to show you the rest of our Admin options. | | You're welcome, NS, but I'm not sure exactly what you mean. LOL | | Peace, | G Man | | ----- Original Message ----- | From: "nightsneak" <nightsneak@xxxxxxxxxx> | To: "PCTT owners" <pctechtalk-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> | Sent: Sunday, December 09, 2001 2:43 AM | Subject: Re: Freelists group has been approved. | | | Let me use nightsneak@xxxxxxx so I can check that also. | | And BTW, Thanks GMan for taking the time and caring. | | nightsneak | | To unsubscribe, send an email to pctechtalk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field.
