I have one because I got caught with an engine that went bad when I was 50
plus miles from home all by myself..I was saved by a call box I stopped
near. Had I been out in the toolies in that situation I would have been
had..I got a cell right after that. Fortunetly where I go so far has not
been a problem..it works with few exceptions of getting hung up on when the
weather is rocky. Better something than nothing. and have to walk 20 miles
to find help...when you have NO idea where you are orwhats around you. GAK

Tried to buy a cell phone before I got wireless Broadband but it
wouldn't work in my home. We live in an area of Soap Lake that
can not get more than one bar and you need three (LOL)

Apparently the tower that AT & T used would not service our area
so they had to refund my money for the phone and cancel the
contract.

I've come to the conclusion I really don't want a cell phone.
Don't do that much traveling and so long as I stay on the main
highways, there is always someone who has a phone glued to their
ear.

I communicate with email to my children and grandchildren or
else they call me with their cell phones. Besides, not sure I
would like to be interrupted when I AM out relaxing.

Already have enough geekette gadgets :-)
