I answered this - but don't think it went because my system crashed. 
I really can't help much - my son did it and he put the xp on a brand new drive 
- 
I think you can, but it's best to install as clean as you can - the experts can 
tell you!!

Chris,
I have a dimension that is also 3-4 years old with ME on it.  Can you
install XP Pro or Home over ME, or do you have to uninstall ME first?  Also,
did you lose all of your programs and stuff (except doc's you could back
up)?
