I have an HP PSC 1400. And I love it. It hasn't let me down so far. It
doesn't have a fax with it but the scanner, copier, and printer are great.
And it was under $100. I have seen what WalMart has that you are talking
about and they will work with mac and I think with Vista. Do like I do and
ask them to open the box and let you look at the documentation inside. They
usually don't mind.
