Ummmm--I have no wish to throw Troth a curve ball either ,,, BUT, I have used System/Restore previously to get myself out of bad places. More than once. I don't know enough to put pieces and parts back together unless someone else tells me or the computer can it for me once set up to do so... So I too question this idea of court of last resort??? Nodding head humbly and wondering?? *~*<*>Mary Lou<*>*~* /\ - /\ >> ^..^ << kg6ocz@xxxxxxxxxxxxx www.theanimalrescuesite.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "DH (Rick) Holmes" <hayvan@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, March 05, 2005 12:02 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: System Restore Joyce.............I have no wish to offend Troth here, but I myself am a bit worried about the comments he makes in the message below, and I refer specifically to the 'should usually be left for lost hope cases'. In the past I have used System Restore frequently to revert to a earlier state where I have downloaded an app. that I did not like. In fact I regarded SysRest as the best thing in WinMe. Since advancing to WinXP I have also used it, and have never, to my knowledge, encountered any problem. Maybe, Troth, you have had a bad experience? or, are you confusing SysRestore with a Ghost type entire system back-up? In saying this I am not looking for an argument, believe me, but I have not heard criticism of SysRestore before, hence my surprise and hope that we are at cross-purposes, Troth. My recommendation, for what it is worth, Joyce, is that you have no need to worry. Let''s hope that others will have some info to add to the discussion. I feel the need to sort this out. Incidentaslly, the reason I asked about SysRestore in the first place was because it is a registry abnormality I have which appeared with no obvious reason for it.! Thanks, no offence, Troth!
