All of my SATA and external drives are multiple partitioned.  They show up 
as "Safely Remove ... - Drives(J:, K:, L:)", where the ... is the identifier 
for that drive.  The external is shown as "USB Mass Storage Device", but the 
internals show the full drive ID such as ST3500630AS for my one 500GB drive. 
That means you choose one of these and it releases the entire drive.
