Just to add my two cents... Watch the labels carefully. I have Morton's Sea Salt..it looks EXACTLY like the regular salt..so grab the right one. And... ok..another penny or two here...... Canned food..and even frozen food have a lot of salt in them...so.... as ML said below... a 'little' occasionally will not hurt you. But, I am adding.... it is the hidden salt, the stuff you do not add that will kill you if you are not careful.... I agree with GMan as far as Mrs Dash is concerned..and there are several varieties there too, I do NOT use Onion SALT, but onion POWDER when cooking... or dried onions if I am not using fresh. I do NOT use Garlic SALT, but garlic POWER when cooking... I usually do not have fresh as we do not use it very much..Jerry is not a garlic person. (Although it IS good for you...hmm maybe that is why..tee hee!) I had not had a box of salt in my house for close to two decades. My late hubby would go through a box about every 4-6 weeks! I had one box last about two years before I met him. My sons do not use table salt at all. May daughters-in-law use to sneak in salt to my house in their purses..then they hid those picnic size salt things in the back of my cupboard. lol! Well, at least I passed on one good health habit to them! Of course..to look at all us, you would not think we could spell helth...err..hlth.. heath...oh yea... health! ha ha!
