Sounds like in your volume control panel you have the cd
and wave set to mute. On some computers you have two of these.
One in the window program, and one from your soundcard mag.. You
may have to look in your program menu for a mixer program
under the name of your soundcard mag.

Ok, smart people, I have a challenge for you. My sound function is almost
totally dead. Can't play CD's, can't play .wav files, video clips are silent.
However, I discovered recently that on Yahoo Chat, the voice function works
very well. Also, while on chat, I was sent to a URL having a .wav file. While
the "talk" function within Yahoo was active, the file would play. Once I logged
out of Yahoo, the .wav file went silent.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
