I don't have 2000, but I can tell you how to do it in 97. Maybe the same technique can be used in your system. In Word, highlight the text you want to drop cap. Then go to Format and choose Drop cap. From the box that comes up, pick the type of effect you want and OK that. It works for me. G.R.
