Hi Just to recap. I helped a friend fresh install WinXP Prof on a new computer. Ran into trouble in importing his old OE messages - which I copied from his old drive onto a CD disk. When I open the CD folder in Explorer I can see all the .dbx files with their specific names. Following on the advice from Ekhart and Robert and using the OE Import Messages Wizard - from an OE store - I pointed the Wizard to the Identities/MS/OE store on the CD and ended up with the following fault message: "No messages can be found in this folder or another application is running that has the required files open. Please select another folder or try closing applications that may have these files open". This message is bewildering because I don't have any other program open that is accessing those files. And as for being asked to select another folder - that is nonsensical as there is no other folder holding these files. He's due to bring his comp in to me on Saturday morning. I've even tried to import them to my own OE Express (I'm not using O/E - I prefer Eudora), but end up with the same result. Though I had no trouble importing his address book. His old machine was using Win98 so does that pose a problem? I'm STUMPED! HELP!
