Ah, just take it with a cracker or something if you're on the run. Any food item like that will coat your tummy well enough.

Well I just had one cup and that's it. But I do have the Aleve and I'm going to take it. But I've got to eat first. I don't know if I'll be able to take one tomorrow morning only because I'm not sure if I'm going to have time to eat something. If I do it'll be instant oatmeal. Because I don't know if I'll be able to get food down where I'm going to be.

Watch the coffee, Kathleen. That’ll surely keep you awake if you have any today. I became a Redsocks fan when I visited my guy Mark.

I'm listening to the Yankee baseball game. They're playing at Yankee Stadium against the White Sox. And last night we lost. Well we're knocking to make it the first place because Toronto just keeps winning. And that's kind of a bummer. Will make the wildcard but I was hoping we get more than that. I guess we'll just have to settle for that. If this was a night game, I don't think I'd be listening to it but I need to get some sleep so I can get up and at least function tomorrow morning.

Hi, Linda,

That’s neat you’ll be listening to the Rader game. I’ll be listening to the Dodgers and Rockies game this afternoon. Guess what. Our magic number is now down to 2 because the Giants lost to the Oakland A’s. I forgot what the score was but the Colorado Rockies beat us last night with a score of 7 to 4. Yuck! If we win tonight, we’ll clinch the National League Western division. I’ll be on cloud 9 if we make the post season for the third year in a row.

That’s neat you and Gina are going out for breakfast on Monday. I’m going to the foot doctor to have my toenails cut. I could do it myself but I’d rather have the doctor do it so they’ll be done right.

Rosie

P.S. I’m glad you didn’t have to take Vicodin.

Hi Hi Rosie,

I guess with the inflammation, my body needs a good bit of sleep, and I’ve got plans for both tomorrow and Monday. I’ll be up early enjoying the Raiders game and pre-game shows, well, let’s hope I’ll enjoy the Raiders game. I’ll enjoy it if they win more than I will if they lose. Monday Gina and I are going out to breakfast, and then at noon I have a phone appointment. Sure can’t wait till Thursday. Will have to get on the phone with Maxi-Aids and have them send me yet another label so I can return the nonworking braille watch. I want a refund this time. At least I didn’t have to take Vikodon this morning.

Hi, Linda,

I’m so sorry you’re hurting. I’m also sorry about your braille watch not working right. I found out from a friend that Orange County Braille Institute took out their store so I’m not too happy about that. That’s where I bought my braille watch. I’ve stayed in bed towhen I had a lot of pain.

I hope you feel better soon.

Rosie

Rosie, glad you sent it. I’m so behind on e-mail right now as I overdid it Wednesday with laundry and garbage and yesterday with trying to find something, one of those suction cup phone attachments. I had to change an appointment and found out the hard way my braille watch, newly purchased, doesn’t keep time worth a bag of beans!! It’s going back to Maxi-Aids, and this time I am asking for a refund of my money as this is the second braille watch they’ve sent me. The first one couldn’t even be set properly. Anyway, I hurt so much in my arms and even my knees last night that I had to stay in bed much of today and rest.

Hi, Linda,

I also have Incense and Peppermints by Strawberry Alarm Clock and will be glad to send it to Devon if you don’t have it.

Hmm, I thought it was drug related but I, too, could be totally off-base. I didn’t like a lot of the music back then if I thought it had anything to do with drugs. For instance, when The Doors did “Light My Fire,” I figured it was most certainly about drugs, but when I heard Jose Feliciano’s version about a year later, now that sounded like a couple having a mellow time to me. I didn’t become too involved with this one, Devon, because my perspectives about a lot of music coming out at that time is pretty messed up. If you don’t already have “Insense Peppermints” by Strawberry Alarm Clock, which was a song throwing a bunch of nonsensical lines together and not about drugs, let me know, and I’ll gladly send it.

Hi, Devon,

I think Mellow Yellow was supposed to be a silly song if I remember correctly. If I’m wrong, somebody please jump in and correct me.

Hi, everyone. I thought I might finish this week’s show with a song or two about Autumn, time permitting. If I were to choose something by either the Cascades or the Danderleers, would those songs most likely come from the sixties? I have a folder of Autumn songs, thanks in large part to Nance, but not many of the songs include years. The other question has to do with next week’s special on songs having to do with drugs. I have a couple of songs that weren’t connected in any way with drugs but people thought they were. Any other suggestions along those lines? I think I should do whatever I can to debunk rumours like that. And were any songs by either Bob Dylan or Donovan connected with taking drugs? One Donovan song that particularly comes to mind is Mellow Yellow. Thanks a bunch for any info you might be able to pass along. Devon.
