Well, the thing is, Rosie, for some of us, that's the only way we get
some relief. And we have to feel as if we're committing a crime by
hurting so much that we need the medication. I'd like not to need it,
but since I do, I'd like for people (certain doctors and ADA people
who make rulings) not to make me feel like a criminal.

Hi, Kathleen,
I know what you mean about taking pain meds like Vicodin. Iâm glad my orthopedic specialist doesnât prescribe that stuff. I donât blame you for being annoyed with the doctor. Iâd be more than annoyed. Iâd probably want to find another doctor.

Linda I'm glad you didn't have to take Vicodin. That's what me and my orthopedist got into this huge argument about. He wanted me to take either Vicodin or OxyContin and I said no. The reason I said no is because I travel on the subway and I didn't want to be under the influence of either one of those drugs if I was traveling. He got mad and said will you just don't want to try it. So I will and I just walked out of the office. They left the prescriptions on the counter for me to get them and I will have to. I just left them there. I was kind of annoyed I don't know why these doctors don't understand some of these drugs can affect us differently and the blind people traveling we just don't stay home all the time. That's just really totally nuts. Well I got the Aleve. And I got it in a bottle I can open. I got the Aleve caplets. Thank you goodness no child safety bottle just a regular screwtop that you take off. And I'm glad I got it that way. The gentleman in the drugstore was nice. So he help me get what I wanted and then I left and came back home.

Hi Hi Rosie,
I guess with the inflammation, my body needs a good bit of sleep, and Iâve got plans for both tomorrow and Monday. Iâll be up early enjoying the Raiders game and pre-game shows, well, letâs hope Iâll enjoy the Raiders game. Iâll enjoy it if they win more than I will if they lose. Monday Gina and I are going out to breakfast, and then at noon I have a phone appointment. Sure canât wait till Thursday. Will have to get on the phone with Maxi-Aids and have them send me yet another label so I can return the nonworking braille watch. I want a refund this time. At least I didnât have to take Vikodon this morning.

Hi, Linda,
Iâm so sorry youâre hurting. Iâm also sorry about your braille watch not working right. I found out from a friend that Orange County Braille Institute took out their store so Iâm not too happy about that. Thatâs where I bought my braille watch. Iâve stayed in bed towhen I had a lot of pain.
I hope you feel better soon.

Rosie, glad you sent it. Iâm so behind on e-mail right now as I overdid it Wednesday with laundry and garbage and yesterday with trying to find something, one of those suction cup phone attachments. I had to change an appointment and found out the hard way my braille watch, newly purchased, doesnât keep time worth a bag of beans!! Itâs going back to Maxi-Aids, and this time I am asking for a refund of my money as this is the second braille watch theyâve sent me. The first one couldnât even be set properly. Anyway, I hurt so much in my arms and even my knees last night that I had to stay in bed much of today and rest.

I also have Incense and Peppermints by Strawberry Alarm Clock and will be glad to send it to Devon if you donât have it.

Hmm, I thought it was drug related but I, too, could be totally off-base. I didnât like a lot of the music back then if I thought it had anything to do with drugs. For instance, when The Doors did âLight My Fire,â I figured it was most certainly about drugs, but when I heard Jose Felicianoâs version about a year later, now that sounded like a couple having a mellow time to me. I didnât become too involved with this one, Devon, because my perspectives about a lot of music coming out at that time is pretty messed up. If you donât already have âInsense Peppermintsâ by Strawberry Alarm Clock, which was a song throwing a bunch of nonsensical lines together and not about drugs, let me know, and Iâll gladly send it.

Hi, Devon,
I think Mellow Yellow was supposed to be a silly song if I remember correctly. If Iâm wrong, somebody please jump in and correct me.

Hi, everyone. I thought I might finish this weekâs show with a song or two about Autumn, time permitting. If I were to choose something by either the Cascades or the Danderleers, would those songs most likely come from the sixties? I have a folder of Autumn songs, thanks in large part to Nance, but not many of the songs include years. The other question has to do with next weekâs special on songs having to do with drugs. I have a couple of songs that werenât connected in any way with drugs but people thought they were. Any other suggestions along those lines? I think I should do whatever I can to debunk rumours like that. And were any songs by either Bob Dylan or Donovan connected with taking drugs? One Donovan song that particularly comes to mind is Mellow Yellow. Thanks a bunch for any info you might be able to pass along. Devon.
