Sounds like it. I’m still holding out for a flame thrower!

Hi Rick,
It sounds like the consensus is we don’t need a bladed weed eater......does
that sound correct?
Thanks,
Jake

HI Rick and Tom,
Yes, we can use the parts you have found. The receiver would be awesome as
then William will be starting out with a modern radio and not something
“antiqueish” . I hope you will lead me through the steps of binding the
receiver to the transmitter. I will go through my radio bits box to see if I
have a binding plug.
I hope to be at the field at 8 am for work and flying.
Cheers,
Richard P.

Richard, I hit a jackpot! Went through every box in my shop. Came up with
not only a starter glow clip, but also three new glow plugs, another wrench ,
two starter springs and an overhaul kit. All set to give to you on Monday.

Hi guys,
I put a gallon of 40 to 1 2 stroke mix in the storage shed with the tiny
ORCA weed-eater.
Joe, glad you spotted the giant wasp nest before they spotted you.
I will bring my electric chain saw on Monday.
Tom, are you bringing your contest plane to fly?
Thanks Rick M and Rick M. for parts to get my young neighbor’s plane ready
to fly.
He was thrilled to don safety goggles and blue gloves when he took the
.049 engine apart and cleaned out the dried castor oil and freed up the reed
valve. When reassembled the engine turned over with a nice “pop” sound. We
fixed the broken wire on the RCVR antenna and soldered the broken wire back on
the XMTR battery. Unfortunately the old battery did not take a charge but
William’s dad is going to order a new battery. My buddy Duane gave me a
Spectrum 5 ch XMTR as plan B if we can not get the old gold Futaba (ch 24)
going again.
Next week we will work on the broken rudder and horizontal stabilizer and
the plane should be mostly ready to fly.
We are now looking for an .o49 glow clip to light up the special Cox glow
plug. Anybody have one they can donate to the cause?
Hope to see you Monday,
Richard P.

Jake,
I think it would be ideal for clearing a path along the west side of the
fence line We’re going to need some access there for sure, but in the thick of
the grove, the saw seems to be the way to go.

Looks like Monday is a good day for tree cutting and flying.
Tuesday’s float fly doesn’t look too promising.
