On my project, the client tool was some third-party tool using Progress 4gl
programming language.

Some quantity of SQL statements generated by the tool was not shareable,
due to the lack of using binds (and perhaps
there were some unique queries as well),  and the consequence was this
shrink-grow behaviour inside Oracle SGA.

So yes, there are applications that better work without AMM
