OK, my little WinXP has/had a 9.2.0.4 and I just did the "standard" install of the 10g. I was wondering why it didnt ask about the OracleHome, just about the "OracleBase" path, but now I know - there is no new "oraclehome". If I start the 9.2 HomeSelector it tells me "You have only one home, so it's useless to call me" (or words to that effect :-) Hmm.. havnt played with that yet, but am I going to run my 92 if I cant switch homes? I mean sqlplus always comes up in the 10version as things stand. (O, I've got twiddle the path somewhere - care to give a clue?) Anyhow, my 10g runs fine. Well, I'll qualify that: Login into the DB alwyas takes 13 seconds. (not 12, not 14, but 13). The EM is running, and it has analyzed itself to a problem "Your logins take 13.542 seconds". Something more to investigate (unless one of you has the answer handy). Also it wants to start the OracleCSService, which I have surmised is something RAC-related which to noones surprise fails on my laptop. Ah well, work, work work.... I finally just yanked it out altogether.
