If you think broadcasters are a community resource, just ask for some free air time." Dan Responds: Guess what? That is changing! Cox now franchises with the State of Nevada and franchise fees to local entities are gone. We use to get a piece of that action for funding our productions and it completely went away. In the agreement with the State of Nevada, they no longer need to give the County of Clark, the City of Las Vegas, and all other enterprises one single cent. With this new franchise, I don't even know if they are required to provide us with air time. Perhaps you could research what is going on in our state and let me know what is happening because we are dumbfounded. And broadcasters in Las Vegas don't give air time. We've tried and they want to sell it to us, paid programming.
