You seem to struggle with the concept of rate of change. This is not a binary
function. This is something that has been going on for many years, and will

Same as HFC. If your PON passes, say, 300 or 500 homes, that means the fiber is
deployed in every neighborhood. The same applies to telcos. They need to deploy
fiber closer and closer to homes, as the speed per home goes up. Fiber has to
run to the point from which multiple DSL lines are sourced. With ADSL, the max
distance was 4 km. With VDSL, depending on speed, that distance is reduced to
1.5 km, on down to 300 m. The higher the rate, the closer the fiber gets to
each home. Eventually, FTTH is the answer. But you can get very adequate DSL
speeds without going to the extent of FTTH. For instance, 25+ Mb/s with 1 km
max distance. And all the while avoiding the expensive house calls.
Don't forget that a 1 Gb/s version is coming available.

That almost exactly what I did say. The telcos are extending the
EOL for twisted pair by selling data and VOIP.
Exactly the same as cable companies are doing with coax.
Action sports need at least 10 Mbps.
Which is much less than 25/3 service. And you are stuck in time with H.264,
where H.265 is coming.
Funny how important HD was to you two decades ago
... when Craig was saying that all we ever need is 480p. Now Craig finds 480p
inadequate. The simple fact is, Craig, you do not need 25/3 service for HDTV,
especially not with H.265 compression. So your assertion that your legacy
MPEG-2 TS broadcast gives better image quality is wrong. In fact, in cable
systems, those legacy streams still use MPEG-2 compression.
Let me know when that happens.

Thanks for reiterating what I have been saying. The MVPD bundles
are moving to the Internet.
Different formats, Craig, and not necessarily does each site need content from
every TV network. You were claiming that every site needs to license content
from everyone, which is clearly false.
Economics limit how many businesses can provide broadband.
You have not explained how mandated net neutrality changes anything about how
many companies can realistically compete, Craig. Explain that. Reiterating what
everyone knows is not an explanation.
