I don't know, John, as much as I normally agree with you. Or perhaps I am missing something. After being guilted by Blu-ray and HD DVD members at a 2 AM party at my house (yes we are all friends and enjoy BBQ, beer, Shochu, and Sake together), my wife and I went out and bought a Sony LCD. I am not stupid but including the programmable delay in both the Sony and my Denon 5.1 I can't get audio sync with the rest of my channels despite my best efforts. I've tried everything - HDMI, Belden's best - everything. I wanted to use the speakers in the Sony for the dialog channel but they're way out of sync. To this day I have my center channel sitting on the floor in front of the Chinese chest on which the Sony rests (much to the dismay of my wife). - Tom Tom McMahon DelRey +1-310-717-7208 Mobile +1-310-822-4975 FAX TLM@xxxxxxxxxx TLM@xxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: opendtv-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:opendtv-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of John Willkie Sent: Friday, March 21, 2008 2:08 PM To: opendtv@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [opendtv] Re: DTV Audio and video synchronization ... I see no reason to do anything at the ATSC layer; sending audio and video in sync to set top boxes fixes the problem...
