A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was reported in Amazon Park in S. Eugene this morning by daily birder/bike commuter, Paul Gordon:
"I was headed in to work this morning on the Amazon bike path and a RS hawk flew from the creek right in front of me and landed in an ash tree near the pool. This is the exact location where I was seeing a RS hawk in the fall/winter! Very exciting for me."
There have been winter reports of one or more birds in this area the last two winters (personally verified), and at least two reports of possible nesting upstream near the Tugman Park / Donald St. area this spring.
