The 2nd Applegate-Williams raptor survey was completed today, 01-25-19.
Traveled 37.9 miles in 3.5 hours. Weather: overcast to partly cloudy.
Observed were:
Red-tailed Hawk - 16
American Kestrel -5
Bald Eagle - 2 (1 adult, 1 immature - 2nd yr)
Red-shouldered Hawk - 6
Merlin - 1
Peregrine Falcon - 2 (possibly the same bird seen at different
times/locations)
Cooper's Hawk - 1
Others of interest: Greater White-fronted Goose with about 110 Canada
Geese east of Murphy. There were 32 Western Bluebirds perched on power
lines along New Hope road.
