I have had this leucistic junco in my yard all winter. It seems to be doing
just fine though I have not seen any predators like Cooper's hawks around. I do
a raptor route in the Lorane valley and we have had a leucistic red-tail on the
route for three winters now. I believe it is the same bird originally seen and
photographed near Fern Ridge just before we began seeing it on the route. It
can be quite easily found across Territorial Rd. from the big array of solar
panels at King Estates Winery.
