As I recall, oaktable.net webhotel was being put down due to expense and
admin duties (but the name parked to avoid misappropiation or redirected to
freelist)
freelist currently does the mailwork, but is not "private" enough, due to
public archives.
Simplelist seemed affordable and "private".
I'm easy either way, but not happy about slack or other chatservices.
