You have an intel based machine. It only fails completely on AMD processor machines. This as I intimated in my first message probably means that if he compiled it so it did not use sse2 instruction sets, it would work on those machines as well. However I'd expect a performance hit.

With regard to the dalek modulation on the voice, yes, its awful, and in the voice dialogue there is a huge list of things you can change, but none of them seem to be able to do much with that deep vibrato.
My guess is that its the different way XP does things.

Might only be a goer for 7 and up. Cannot test it on Vista, as I don't have a machine that runs it. In my second message there is a link to my output, I assume this is what you hear as well.

Another XP user here. For me it starts fine but the voice is very shaky and
with a lot of interference; is it supposed to be like that for now?

Hi, well, at the current time it won't run on my xp machines. This one has
an amd processor, Athlon single core. the one with no sse2 instruction set.
Here is what happens.

Subject: [nvda-addons] Request NV Speech Player for testing and submition

Hi all,

I've managed to spend a bit of time on NV Speech Player over the last few
weeks. I have made some improvements to timing and pronunciation plus I
have cleaned up the repository and build process, including providing a
suitable readme.md.

Again, the speechPlayer repository is at:
https://bitbucket.org/nvaccess/speechplayer/

And a June 1 built snapshot of the NVDA add-on can be found at:
https://bitbucket.org/nvaccess/speechplayer/downloads/nvSpeechPlayer_2014.6.1.nvda-addon

Like before, we're still not up to the point where its appropriate to
discuss other languages than english. this work over the last few weeks
has really just been about getting it cleaned up and properly branded so
that it can go out there as a prototype so that people can provide
feedback.

I'm quite sure this build will run on XP, though how well it will perform
I'm not sure.

I would like ti submit it for consideration to be listed on the add-ons
site, obviously under development as this is just a prototype.

Thanks
Mick
