Also, when hard "g" is followed by an "r", it sounds somewhere between hard and
soft "g", making "graphic" sound like "jraphic". (Wishes synths could process
unusual combinations of consonants properly.)
"Sh" and "ch" also aren't quite as crisp as they should be, if you know what I
mean.

Hi,
Just downloaded Speech Player, and was very happy about the tiny size of the
addon. :D
A few observations I've made: Hard "c", "k" and "q" sound more like "t" (eg.
"quit" sounds like "twit"), hard "g" sounds more like a "d", "b", "f" and "v"
sound like they're being spoken through tightly pursed lips, while "t" and "d"
sound almost like they're being spat out. Also, all the settings are a bit
confusing for me, as I don't know what most of them do.
I've noticed just now that "j" doesn't sound as crisp, sounding more like "zh",
and words ending in "ing" sound like there's no g when followed by an "s", as
in "settings".
