[muglo] where do iPad downloads go?

Two iPad questions, actually:
When an iPad downloads a photo from the Web or from an e-mail, where
does it go? My wife has downloaded several family photos from my
Flickr account and some stuff I've e-mailed her from the geneaological
archives on my laptop, but we can't find them on the iPad. Is there a
Downloads folder tucked away in there somewhere that we have to go
through some fancy rigmarole to access? I can't figure out the
organizational setup of the thing at all.
Also, I've been mucking about trying to set up a Bluetooth connection
between my laptop and her iPad and I've set what I thought was going
to be a password required on the iPad in order for it to contact — or
be contacted by — the laptop. Now, the iPad's demanding that password
whenever it's turned on, and the confounded thing shuts off if it
doesn't get it. Where do I go and what do I do there to eliminate the
password requirement before my wife finds out and puts ground glass in
my supper?
