I heartily agree with your initial statement, Norton anything is better 
run from the CD; there are quite a few references to problems on Macos 
site. Over the years Norton has produced a fairly good product, but has 
run into conflicts on many occasions. Disk Warrior & Tech Tool Pro seem 
to have virtually no problems.
