Go to bed, Dian...LOL...that's what she IS saying...that in her Outline, the
tab and shift tab are not moving thru levels, they are just inserting tabs 

You need REST my friend ;-)

No...this didn't JUST start happening...this IS how it works when you are
within outline mode. That's what outline mode IS. 

It allows you to create outlines or master documents by setting the levels
using the Tab key to move in or Shift/Tab to move out.

If you don't want it to work this way...use one of the other views and it'll
work like a tab key again.

Click View...and select either Normal or Print Layout.

  All of a sudden my tab key has lots in functionality with in the outline
mode. So now pressing tab actually gives me a tab instead of taking me to
the next level of my outline. Help!!!
  I use word 2002 and this just seemed to happen all of a sudden
