Hi Dar...the only way to "protect" Publisher files is to go into My Computer and find the file, then right click on it and choose Properties and put a check in "Read Only"....of course, anyone who knows how to do this could then just go back there and uncheck it. Publisher doesn't have a lot of protection options becuz Publisher is a Desktop Publishing program and made for PRINTING documents...not made for viewing onscreen. I agree there should be more options for protection, but the bottom line is even when documents are protected, usually the protection can be circumvented by simply creating a copy of the file and removing the protection there. Bottom line, if you send something to someone, there's very little you can do to keep them from changing it...just be sure you have a very clear copyright statement in the document that at least lets them know what they are doing is illegal. I want to send out the catalog I designed with publisher to people that request it from my website, but I don't want them to be able to change the document itself. I just want them to be able to view the document.
