Have you gone to the microsoft site?  Don't know about these particular
versions but I run into incompatibility issues with students all the time
and they have some converters that you can download.  You might try

One of my users needs to be able to save a complicated word 2003
document that'll open in word perfect 2000. In our previous version of
office, we could save in word perfect format, thats gone now....HELP!
