> Duhhh...I was wrong...you can do it all in one step > > Go to View>Current View>Define Current View...then click on Message in > the list to select your Message View...click on the modify > button....click on the Other Settings button....uncheck Preview > Pane...click OK..then Apply View...now check your other folders...if any > of them still show a Preview Pane, that means they are not using the > Message View...so just go to the View Menu>Current View and make sure > Message is the one that is checked > > This is what I told you last time and I forgot how to do it this > time...but this works. I know about this.. I figured it out through messing around before coming to ask again... but it still does NOT do it globally.. i can open a preview pane in one folder and leave it open ... go away come back and message view can still be checked and the preview pane still open.. I want to be able to click preview on another folder that I know is 'safe' so that preview is closed (as I do with oe) and then visit the folder (such as inbox) and preview will also be closed on that folder ie globally.. I just tried it... it does not work in outlook... :( My machine crashed so I went to look again at this... with only notepad oe and outlook open... outlook kept me waiting to open menus... so it's hogging my resources (which might be a separate issue as that keeps happening with IE. I do get lockergnome but I can always view it online:)... I think Chris writes to accessibility/usability standards so that should not be much of a problem anyway... the few other ezines I get ... well if I can't read them too bad they should provide text alternatives anyway... one thing though.. can attachments still be sent in html.. or does this apply to them as well? I was thinking on the few occasions that I needed to receive html.. and I know the person they can send me a html attachment.... I can easily check attachments through Norton... so that would not be too much of a problem... unless it did not catch a virus course... I'm going to have a serious think about doing it that way... or am I better off forgetting about it.. and just sticking with oe for all the hassle this causes?... I would love to use the features in outlook... but this one thing stops me... don't you just love the virus makers?.. Not... what a pane they are (pun intended;) thanks for all the help Linda:) Tina ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu.
