What Glenda says is true, but I'm not sure you are going to come up with what you want, especially if the entire address is in one table cell, and, like you say, the names are not consistent (not all just first, last, etc.)....so, I believe the person is going to have to re-setup the table ... Obviously, if the table is not too big yet, they can just add another column and manually number the labels in the new column, then sort by that number field...but if the table is very large, that could be a pain in the arse...but once they did it, they could remove the number column, then, FROM THEN ON, add new entries in the correct order However, if the table is being produced from a mail merge, which is the way it *should* be done, and if the merge was done properly and the last name is in a separate field, the way it *should* be, they could simply sort the data source file by last name BEFORE they do the merge, then everything would be in the right order...that's why mail merges are a good idea...then you don't have these kinds of problems. Other than that, I don't know what else to offer. Linda F. Table/Sort/click Options - make selections/click OK - make selections/click OK hope this helps. /g ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
