I assume that's becuz you have your PC set to show dates in the American format and Excel is seeing that. The format that you are using is the European format. The American format would be 03/26/03, not 26/03/03 Go into your Windows control panel and click on your Regional Settings icon...you will see your date format in there....that's what Excel is seeing and therefore unable to recognize what you typed as a date cuz it does not recognize 26 as a month.
