i got results by multiplying (paste special) but the date format is not
working still
i just tried by typing '26/03/03 and then doin what u told.
guide where i went wrong

First, to convert them to numbers, do this...

In an empty cell, type a 1
Copy the 1
Highlight all the cells with the dates in them
Go to Edit>Paste Special and put a tick where it says "Multiply"
Click OK

That will turn all the dates into the correct serial numbers.

Then, while the cells are still highlighted, go to Format>Cells
Click on the Number Tab
Choose Date in the left column, then choose the date format you want on the
right.
Click OK.

apostrophe). The data was exported from Outlook to Excel.  I need to

the text to dates.  Please keep in mind that I do not know any Visual
