I will also agree ... my favorite version of Office is still 2003 ... the
only part of Office 2007 I use is Outlook (although I don't find any fault
with Excel 2007)... and I'm not even interested in getting Office 2010.

Unfortunately, becuz of this, my website is becoming a dinosaur and I'm able
to help people with the newer versions less and less ... but I'm standing
firm and staying with 2003 becuz I refuse to support Microsoft with these
new versions that I don't see as real improvements over the older ones.

I can not agree with you more.  I loved Word in Office 2000 and in Office
2003.
Now I find myself stumbling trying to find where the functions are that I
was used to use effortlessly.  
I am glad you finally got the page numbers to work.  If you get a chance,
see if the same issue arises with any other document?
Let us see if the people from MS will answer your email :):)
