Abed, thanks for the info but I do not really know how to do section breaks,
I tried to look around in Word Help-the thing is Abed in the previous
version of Word it took two whole steps to arrange for what I want and now
I'm supposed to put in section breaks? Anyway its not that I am stubborn or
want it a certain way but since I have sent my last post I played around
with a five page document and after switching between putting in the page
numbers and switching between Insert and Page Setup I got exactly what I
wanted. This is how I've been doing it-playing around until somehow it
worked out. What is so irritating is that I do not know exactly why or how
I am getting the page numbers to click in the way I want. I wrote a very
un-diplomatic letter to MS Word Help bitterly complaining about those MS
engineers taking a perfectly good, functional, time saving way of doing
things and changing it into something so time consuming and befuddling.
Those guys are idiots. Frank C.

Did you try to break the document into 2 sections like I described in my
replay earlier ?

In the "Page Layout" menu, in "Headers and Footers", check "Different first
page" (terms may be slightly different because I'm translating from the
Portuguese version of Word 2007).
