Yes, Gene....it's not only when you leave messages on the server...but
that sometimes can cause one to get stuck there....sometimes they just
get stuck by themselves...and sometimes they get unstuck by themselves
too (which is when the problem eventually goes away)...but *most* ISPs
will delete the stuck mail for you and then the problem stops

Or..if your ISP has a feature where you can go to their website and see
the mail there that is still on the server, you can delete the stuck one
yourself, IF you can identify it. Or, there are third party software
programs that allow you to see your mail that is on the server and
delete it that way too.

But...the point is that nine times out of ten, this problem is with
something stuck on the server and not a problem with you email
program....especially if it is happening with ALL of your mail, like Jan
says...if it's only certain mail (like Yahoo group mail or something),
then it's probably a problem with yahoo, etc....if it's just mail you've
made rules for, then it could be your email program (maybe you've made
the rules to move a copy of the mail and not the original mail, so you
then end up with two copies, etc.)...but since Jan said it's ALL mail,
I'm assuming it's gotta be a server problem.

But, Jan....I have occasionally seen a problem with Outlook downloading
mail and it doesn't fully complete the last step (which is where it
cleans the mail off the server)...obviously, this would cause you to get
the mail again....if this is what's happening, the only workaround I
know is to not do ANYTHING in Outlook while it's downloading, so
you don't accidentally interrupt the process. (I think I remember
having this problem occasionally in the early days of Outlook 2000)

Well I never leave notes on the server but there are a few I always get
doubles from? So what ever. When I complain they just give me the
run
around and sooner or later it seems to stop!
