If you are getting multiple copies of all of your messages, I would
assume this is a problem with your ISP and not Outlook. Especially
since you say you leave them on the server...if the mail gets backed up
on the server, a common side effect is that it downloads multiple
copies, if one gets "stuck", it keeps trying to download it, and instead
downloads all the rest over and over and over.

Contact your ISP and tell them...you probably have something stuck on
the server.

Good luck.

Subject: [mso] Outlook 2002-multiple copies of emails

Hello All,

I have been lurking at this list for the last few months. You are all
very helpful and I've learned some nifty new things about Office
programs. The humor and diversions make learning fun!

Question: I receive 2-4 copies of every email message. How do I
eliminate the duplications?

Windows 98SE, Office xp Professional, ISP Mindspring, Cable connection.
I have Outlook set up with several email addresses (aliases). Leave my
messages on the server for 7 days so I can receive them on my laptop
which I do once a week.
I use Mindspring for all of my email. I have the cable connection for
high speed (HA!) Internet access but do not use their email service. If
I am not dialed into Mindspring but have Outlook open I still receive my
email but cannot send out via Comcast as not configured to do so, nor do
I want to.

Any clues for me?

Thanks,
Jan MacGregor
