Exactly! And "Rivers of White" are VERY distracting because your eye is drawn to the gaps and takes your mind off the content you should be reading. For a great (exaggerated) example of how distracting a river of white is...check out this newsletter article (again) and notice the first thing you probably see in my newsletter sample...the white line going down the page! http://www.computorcompanion.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=216 This is caused by the 2 spaces Microsoft used in their =rand(#,#) code that I used as filler for my sample. I left it in to use this as an example of how bad it look as I whined to MS to fix it! Thankfully, RAND in 2007 is MUCH cooler content as the quick brown fox and lazy dog have gone the way of Clippy! ;-) Dian D. I see that Word 2002 permits selecting "1 space", "2 spaces", or "Don't check" in the Tools menu | Options | Grammar and Spelling | Settings. I examined several sources like the Wall Street Journal, some Microsoft manuals, and some text books. In those publications that are right-justified, it's impossible to tell, however in left-justified text, the predominant style appears to be one space. Is there a standard?
